Celestine Dance Animation (Student Project)

This was an assignment for one of my animation classes at SCAD, where we had to animate the character Celestine, from the 2012 animated film "Ernest & Celestine," doing a short dance of our choice. I chose to do a portion of the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" segment from the famous ballet "The Nutcracker" by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. My reference footage was from the ballet itself found online, and was a key part in producing the final result you see here. The assignment was ambitious and slightly intimidating for students of our grade level, even by our professor's own admission, but I am overall pretty satisfied with the result.
